School of Sonship
"Become who God says you already are in Him."
Most believers are living exhausted. They love Jesus — deeply. But somewhere along the way,
nobody taught them who they actually are in Him. So they perform. They strive.
They try to earn what was already freely given at the cross.
School of Sonship exists to change that. This is not a course.
It is discipleship. An 8-week journey from orphan thinking into the
reality of the Father's house — rooted in encounter, reformation, and identity.
June 2026 Cohort — Limited Enrollment
If we're being honest…
When was the last time you felt settled in who you are in Christ?
Not just knew it in your head. Felt it in your bones.
Most believers can't answer that question. Because somewhere along the way, the gospel got reduced
to behaviour modification. You were taught what to do. You were never taught who you are.
So now you're stuck in a cycle:
Here's what's really happening:
You've been trying to become something you already are.
The Cost of the Orphan Cycle
You can't rest in a Father you're still trying to impress.
You can't walk in dominion from a place of insecurity.
Performers second-guess every word. Sons speak from identity.
You can't father or mother from a place you haven't been fathered in yourself.
You can't multiply what you don't possess.
Performance kills the very thing the Father wants to give you freely.
And here's the truth: time doesn't fix this. You can be 20 years into your walk with God and still be living as an orphan. You can be a pastor, a leader, a worship leader — and still be performing for the approval of a Father who already chose you.
The Sacred Soil Truth
Jesus is the door. When you encounter Him, He gives you the key to your own heart — and in that heart space, reformation begins.
You did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear — you received the Spirit of adoption.
Abba. Father. My Father. That one word changes everything.
Sonship is not something you achieve. It is something you awaken to.
The soil of your heart, cultivated through encounter with the Father, produces
identity, freedom, and authority — not because you worked for it,
but because you finally believed what He said about you.
The Solution — An 8-Week Journey
This is not information transfer. It is a fathering environment designed to bring you into the reality of who you already are in Christ — one week at a time.
Most of what you believe about God was shaped by your earliest relationships, not by Scripture. Until you see Him clearly, you cannot see yourself clearly. We begin here — at the source.
Identity is not a feeling. It is a frequency. You'll learn how to renew your mind, manage your heart, and recalibrate your inner world to agree with what God has already said about you.
The soil of your heart holds the residue of every wound, agreement, and lie you've absorbed. We go to the root — not to dig in pain, but to invite Jesus into the heart space where reformation happens.
You cannot walk in authority from a place of insecurity. Authority is not earned — it is inherited. This week, you'll begin to operate from sonship rather than striving.
Strategy is downstream of presence. Most believers are trying to live the Christian life without ever learning to abide. You'll learn what it actually means to live led by the Spirit — moment by moment.
You were created with a unique voice — a sound the kingdom needs. We'll identify what's been suppressed, what's been borrowed from others, and what God has placed inside you to release.
Sonship is generational. What is in you was never meant to die with you. You'll begin to see how your transformation becomes a doorway for others — your family, your community, the next generation.
You don't graduate from sonship. You step into it. This final week integrates everything you've learned and sends you forward — not as a graduate, but as a son or daughter equipped to live from who you already are.
Step Into the Journey
For most who step into School of Sonship, this is the right entry point — the journey, the community, and the ongoing soil to keep growing after the 8 weeks are done.

For the Men
Identity is the foundation for every believer. But men carry a specific weight — sons becoming fathers. Husbands carrying households. Leaders shaping legacies.
You're tired of feeling like you're falling short — distant from your wife when you long to be close, unsure how to truly connect with your kids, wondering if you're really living up to the man God has called you to be. You sense the weight of leadership but were never given the tools — or the brotherhood — to carry it well. And quietly, you fear leaving behind a legacy that falls short of what you dreamed.
The Men's Leadership Track is built on over 40 years of pastoral and counselling wisdom from Dr. Gordon Johnston, refined and delivered alongside Ben Johnston — father and son walking men through identity, marriage, fathering, and legacy. It runs in parallel with the Identity Awakening Track because you can't lead from a place you haven't been fathered in yourself.
Ben is passionate about helping men grow spiritually and lead with confidence. Ben and his wife Chelsey have served as lead pastors for over 10 years at WeR1, a non-denominational church they founded — a community in love with Jesus and one another, with an emphasis on family, transformation, and discipleship. Ben and Chelsey have been married for 17 years and live in Brossard, Quebec with their sons Judah and Josiah.
Founder and Director of Side by Side Counselling Resources, Dr. Gordon has over 40 years of experience as a Mental Health Coach specializing in Anxiety, Anger Management, Depression, and Relational Conflicts. He holds a Masters of Divinity, Doctorate of Ministry, BA in Psychology (University of Waterloo), Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology (McGill), and Masters in Biblical Counselling (Grace Theological Seminary). He is married to Diana Marie and is father to Ben and grandfather to four growing grandsons.

After the 8 Weeks
Sonship is not a destination you arrive at once. It is a soil you tend continuously.
Overflow is where transformation becomes a lifestyle. A protected community of sons and daughters
growing together, month after month.
